We have been writing our history since 1976. Back then, our company was founded when Clemens Hilker took over the small Windau country butcher's shop in Harsewinkel, East Westphalia. Even after a move from the original headquarters in the city centre to our current plant, we remain rooted in Harsewinkel in the heart of East Westphalia to the present day. As a family business, Windau is now run by the second generation.

Through continuous growth, we have developed into one of the most modern production facilities in Europe with around 350 employees. With a production area of approx. 25,000 m2 and a production volume of approx. 20,000 metric tons per year, we achieve an annual turnover of 93 million euros (2022). Our above-average export share of 25% underlines our international activities. This makes us one of the top 100 companies in the German meat industry today.
